Every week day for at least the next two weeks, I will be spotlighting some of the awesome creators I have met over the last seven years of doing Legion of Sand. These creators produce a variety of different content and with the current state of affairs, I wanted to reach out and ask them all the same several questions.

Our next spotlight is Daniel who heads up Steam Crow and Monster Rangers with his wife and partner Dawna. I met Daniel through various convention related Facebook groups. Daniel exhibited at several of my favorite conventions so it wasn’t long before I was able to catch up with him in person. I’d really implore you to check out Daniel’s Monster Rangers camps which is a like a cross between the scouts for adults and Halloween.
How are you spending the time at home?
So, I’ve been sick at home with a “Coffin Cough” here for the past couple of weeks, so I’ve been chugging cough syrup like corn syrup, and going in and out of an addled daze. And, I’ve been watching movies, lots of movies. Finally, I’m starting to feel better.
What is a favorite of meal of yours that you could have multiple times a week?
So, my wife partner Dawna makes these fantastic turkey pot pies, with home-made sourdough crust; that stuff is fantastic, and I could eat it all the time. Otherwise, I love Thai – really any sort of Asian cuisine, even American Chinese food. Oh, and apple pie, I could eat that a bunch.
Any recommendations for other creatives struggling to make content while at home?
So… it’s easier said than done, but I’d suggest just working on something – ANYTHING – even if it’s just for you.
Social Media – and stories of gloom – are sadly addictive ways to suck up all of your hard-won life energy. Don’t succumb to that, and start your day out with some drawing, crafting, or whatever it is that makes you happy instead.
Sure, dig into the news, but maybe do it later in the evening AFTER you’ve paid yourself some creative time.
