Welcome to the third annual count down of my favorite convention moments of the year. 2017 was full of awesome conventions which provided me some great experiences. Every Thursday for the rest of November and December, I will be counting down those experiences and moments.
8. The Mega Masquerade – Taiyou Con
Another Taiyou Con moment to land in the top 10 this time thanks to crew at Mega64. The ensemble were guests this past year at Taiyou Con who also pulled double duty as the masquerade hosts. I don’t attend many masquerades/cosplay contests but they were by far the most entertaining hosts who found ways to have fun out it being at the expense of the contestants. They also kept the fun going for the half time show while the judges commiserated by having a dance off and Super Bowl trivia. Yes, Super Bowl trivia at an anime convention. Genius.
7. DuckTales Panel – San Diego Comic Con
If you grew up in the early 90s, chances are you enjoyed DuckTales. I was pretty thrilled to see the series get a reboot with an amazing cast to provide the voices. Once the panel had been announced for San Diego Comic Con, which included David Tennant, it was a must attend. Thanks to a friendly attendee, I was able to get into the panel and sit front row. It was a great experience to see so much talent who had come to fame through other properties come together for DuckTales. Did I mention FRONT ROW? š
