Moment #10 – The Large NES Controller

One of the coolest moments for me this past year was the large NES controller that was playable at ZapCon. The controller is pretty hard to use for a solo player so many had to co-op it, with one person manning the directional pad and the other taking care of the A and B buttons. My 5 year old and I took a crack at Contra, and well, it went as well as you could expect it to. Either way, it was a pretty cool small little experience I got to share with my kid.

Top Moment #9 – Meeting Basketball Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

One thing I am nearly as passionate about as pop culture is sports. While I am far from being a Los Angeles Lakers fan, I can appreciate athletes who have had great careers. San Diego Comic-Con always features a few guests who you would never expect to find there and this past year it was NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who was signing a comic book he was involved with. As with most signings at SDCC, a winning lottery ticket was needed and thanks to Evic from the SDCC Unofficial Blog, I was able to meet the legend.
