We are approaching the end of April but I promise that September will be here before you know which means Saboten season. The Phoenix anime + gaming convention recently fired up its guests announcements (they’ve also announced a few international guests late last year) which started with voice actors Michelle Ruff (Bleach, Sailor Moon) and Zeno Robinson (My Hero Academia, Young Justice).
Also, new this year is the cosplay gala which is a formal themed ball. The gala theme for its first year is “Heroes and Villains”. There looks to be snacks, beverages, a red carpet with paparazzi as well as prizes for best themed costumes. This does seem to be a paid event which will need a separate purchase from the standard Saboten Con badge just based off the wording. The cosplay gala will be taking place on Friday, September 1.
Badges for Saboten Con are currently on sale and will be taking place at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown September 1-4. This year is also Saboten’s 15th anniversary and will be introducing a whole new gaming event called SaboSlam taking place during the same dates at the Renaissance Phoenix down the street from the Sheraton.
