Last month in Orlando, FL Holiday Matsuri took place over the course of several days. It was filled with vendors, cosplay, and events all with splash of the holidays thrown in. One of those events was the Charity Benefit Ball and contributor Jamie W was able to attend and take a few photos.

The Charity Benefit Ball was a ticketed event which came in at a reasonable $10 per ticket. All ticket proceeds were donated to ‘Give Kids the World.’ The organization is a nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides critically ill children and their families with magical weeklong wish vacations at no cost to them.

The event itself included various types of dancing with some live music (Music of Somnio Strings). The entry fee also provided you with a selection of hot cocoa, cookies, custom ornament decorating and games along with a cosplay contest where cosplayers present themselves in front of the court (which was consisted of various Holiday Matsuri staff and guests) and give their best bow. The last two cosplayers who bowed we’re actually set up for a proposal. They met at Holiday Matsuri several years before and the gentleman wanted to propose where it started. The entire event was 2 and a half hours in which many cosplayers made ball gown dresses just for the event.
