Wednesday, May 22 was the opening of the 5 day Zia Records pop up shop in collaboration with The Rebel Lounge and FilmBar Phoenix. The shop is located at the Arizona Center (which can be found on 3rd St. and Van Buren). The shop occupies two connected rooms, with one room being the retail side with merchandise from Zia Records and the other room being a lounge that features a bar and stage for various events.
The retail side has the walls decked out in comic books and albums of all variety. You can also find an assortment of Zia branded merchandise including the bag and shirt exclusive to this weekend, gag gifts, pop culture branded merchandise and a small variety of other things. Big thanks to one of the employees hooking us up with a Zia sticker.
The other room is the taproom which you can either use the entrance to that or use the hallway on the Zia side to access. This room features a 21+ area which houses the bar that serves $5 beers, $6 cocktails, and $2 soda waters. There is a large screen on wall which will have films screening as well as some antique decor to sit and relax. In the back of the room features a stage which will be setup for music and live podcasts.
This is a 3 minute walk from the Phoenix Convention Center and will be a nice spot to get away from the madness.
