I haven’t attended Saboten since 2013 (and even then it was for a single day) so I’m excited to attend and bring some coverage to you guys (and if you don’t know by now, make sure to follow along on Twitter for live tweet and streaming)! Even more so this year as Saboten is moving locations, from Glendale to Downtown Phoenix.

Let’s take a look at some of the guests…

Armand Villavert Jr
“Armand Villavert is an American manga artist and graphic novel illustrator. He was done works for Tokyopop, Boom studios’ Muppet Robin Hood, and is currently working on a long running series called Gladstone’s School for World Conquerors. He has also done illustrations for Nintendo Game boy and Warner bros. animation. Armand lives in Phoenix and spends most of the day trying to top his all time record of how many hard boiled eggs he can fit in his mouth.”
Rika Muranaka

“In the last 20 years, I composed and produced themes to some of Konami’s most successful and award-winning AAA game titles. I worked on projects such as Silent Hill, the renowned Metal Gear Solid and the sequels Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater, and Guns of the Patriots, and has played a fundamental role in shaping the tone of dramatic onscreen events, which elevated the cinematic experience for gamers worldwide.

I collaborated and hired Hollywood film composer Harry Gregson-Williams at the Media Ventures studio in Venice Beach California to work with me on the Konami’s biggest selling AAA video game called “Metal Gear Solid”.”

Electric Lady (If you think you’ve seen that photo before, you have!)

“Kara, other wise known as Electric Lady has been cosplaying since the year 2004. She also dabbles in a bit of photography, enjoys long walks on the beach, the smell of rain, and is inspired to one day become a crazy cat lady. Introduced to the world of animation at a young age from her mother’s Japanese side of the family, it was with her father and two brothers that helped her grow into the nerd she is today. Taught at the age of 10, her mother showed her how to use the sewing machine for the first time. From then on her creativity and spun out of control, recreating characters from her favorite series.”

Kahza

“Kazha is a rock band from Japan formed by singer/songwriter Kazuha Oda. During her debut as a solo singer, she worked with wide variety of performers including Grammy winner Bob James (Fourplay), and worked on numerous CDs: 6 albums, 5 singles, and over 10 compilation albums ranging from Classic to Heavy Metal music.”

Liui Aquino

“Liui Aquino is a retail business man, model, and part-time cable TV and commercial actor in Manila, Philippines. More importantly, perhaps, he is also an amazing cosplayer who has transformed his life-long love for anime and games with his experience as a model. Needless to say, the results are amazing! While he has only been cosplaying for a short time, it’s easy to predict that Liui is rising cosplay star as well as an incredibly nice and friendly person.”

Plenty more guests will be on hand at Saboten including the already announced Robotech Reunion
